Woman of the Year: Governor Sarah Palin
The 'other' weekly has crowned Ben 'the recession is over' Bernanke 'Person of the Year.' Lynn knows THYME chose Governor Palin a while ago.
The events of the past year have engaged citizens in their government in the form of tea parties and town hall meetings. Governor Palin was there before many of us. As a concerned parent she got involved in local affairs... she ended up running for mayor of Wasilla. She won.
She took on oil companies and Murkowski... she ended up Governor of Alaska!
She ran for Vice President. She brought the people back into the game.
A lot of people are threatened by her. They try to dismiss her as 'dumb.' Her editorials [1.] prove otherwise. Practically every Democrat mailing lists her along with Limbaugh and Beck as a 'threat.' They're right. You don't waste that much ammunition if the enemy is not dangerous.
They try to call her a 'quitter.' She's still very much in the game. She simply cared enough to spare her state the expenses associated with what was essentially a personal attack on her.
'Tomato Man' Jeremy Olson personifies the hysteria directed toward Governor Palin in the form of personal attacks.
She's threatening to the 'status quo.' That is why we admire her. She's one of us. Sure, she's made some mistakes, but she learns from them and comes back even stronger.
Hint: If you want to know which Conservatives are truely effective, look to see who the left is most anxious to destroy.
