The Root Problem in Human Behavior
The concept of individual morality gets too little press today. The bad behavior of powerful people is nothing new. Scripture tells us of David, a man after "G-d's own heart," and how he fell into the acts of betrayal and murder to cover up his initial sins.
All of us are human and all of us are capable.
Today's philosophies often build on the idea of man being basically good and perfectable. Man is basically good, they say, but society is flawed. Yet, set up a 'fairer' system to make society more equitable, and you must appoint someone to perform the functions that would make things more equitable. History is strewn with the wreckage of such systems.
