Many Skills Built Our Country
In the mid-Nineteenth Century the Ellicott Brothers were milling wheat and mining limestone to enrich the fields. Charles Carrol of Carollton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, was an advancer of their new methods and a patron of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company. Shown above is the model of Ellicotts' Mills I built showing the town around 1854.
