The Wreckonciliation of the Old 57

A Ballad for Our Troubled Times

Wreckonciliation
'Wreckonciliation' by Leo Alberti as seen at
Michelle Malkin's Blog.

When I saw this picture I was inspired. Remember the old Virginia ballad "The Wreck of the Old 97?" Well it was recast once before to protest a fare increase on Boston's MTA as "The Man Who Never Returned." Here is a new version to reflect current events inspired by Mr. Alberti's photograph:

[to the tune of 'Wreck of the Old 97']

Oh he handed them his orders
in Washington that morning saying
"Reid, you're way behind time.
"Oh there's not sixty votes
there might not be fifty-seven,
better reconcile or walk the line

Harry Reid turned round
to Nancy Pelosi,
"better shovel in a little more bribe
and when we pass
what the Senate has written
we can keep Obamcare alive"

"It's a long hard road
when you go against the people
in an effort to sieze control
but when we contol
both the House and Senate
we can make Barack's agenda roll"

Our Senators ignored us
from Lynchburg to Danville
and we gave them a failing grade
but the people showed up
in Washington and Richmond
You should have heard the shout they made

They kept pushing through the bill
at ninety miles an hour
while the tea parties built up steam
they were found in the wreck
in the 2010 elections
still repeating the same old theme

So all you Officials
elected by the people
there's a lesson here to be learned
don't ignore the voters
and the Constitution
your careers may crash and burn
