Chapman's Mill on Broad Run

More Pictures of the Historic Mill

Chapman's Mill
In 1742 Jonathan and Nathaniel Chapman built this mill. Located between the great valley of Virginia and the Port of Alexandria...

The last time I took my son to Dulles I stopped at Chapman's Mill [click to read] and took some Pictures [click to view]. It took a bit of hiking through Bull Run Mountain Conservancy to get near the mill, which is surrounded by a chain link fence. On Sundays the fence is open so I was able to drive right up to the other side of the mill where you get a better sense of how high it is.

This Summer one of the high points was reconstructing the historic town of Ellicott's Mills [click to view]. Chapman's Mill and McCormick's Mill [click to view] became models for our

Chapman's Mill
...that operated in portions of three Centuries.
