Our Third President Was a Prolific Architect
Monticello, the University of Virginia and Poplar Forest are all well known landmarks. Thomas Jefferson designed them all. Albemarle County boasts some lesser known works by Jefferson such as Farmington, who's octagonal addition was designed by Jefferson in 1803. It is now part of the Farmington Country Club just outside of Charlottesville. I wonder how old the Lebanon Cedar in front of the house is?
